Thanks to you, our generous donors, the NYC Chapter had a very successful gala on September 18th at the Museum of Modern Art. If you pledged support at the Gala and have not yet fulfilled the commitment, or would like to make a new or additional gift today, here is a chance to leverage your donation by giving via the Skoll SE Challenge!
The ability to read and write can truly make a difference in a child's social, economic and personal development. In India, an estimated 100 million children are illiterate. Without intervention, these children are left with little opportunity and will be destined to a life of poverty.
Founded in 1995 to ensure that every child is in school and learning well, Pratham is now one of the largest non-governmental organizations in India's education sector. Pratham uses low-cost, scalable methods and works in partnership with government and community stakeholders to provide quality education to underprivileged children in 20 of India's 29 states. In our 20-year history, we have reached over 33 million children!
PLUS, Over 90% of every dollar donated to Pratham goes directly to programs, so your contribution makes a real, lasting difference.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT PRATHAM
Did you read the New York TImes on October 24th? Tina Rosenberg wrote a wonderful article about Pratham, capturing the remarkable work undertaken by our colleagues and India's citizen volunteers in testing children's learning levels.
SUPPORT US--AND TELL OTHERS!
Please do your part--and forward this page to others. Even a modest gift makes a HUGE difference in the lives of underprivileged children in India.
Thank you for your generosity.
